Bruised Reeds and Smoldering Wicks

Bruised Reeds and Smoldering Wicks......A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out. Until He leads justice to victory, In His name the nations will put their hope. Matt. 12:20-21

These encouraging words remind us that even when we are bruised and beaten down from life's struggles, and only a tiny ember remains of our joy, God lovingly shows us His compassion and mercy, mends our brokenness, and renews our spirits.

He doesn't berate or condemn our failures, but instead He shows us a preview of the person we can become as we allow Him to reshape our lives into His image.

When we focus too long on our pain (and the source of that pain), we fall into the snare of anger, bitterness, revenge, and all the physical and emotional distresses that follow.

However, when we look out of our pain toward the Lord, we receive hope and confidence that God is in control. He will restore our joy and give us a purpose for living.....Focus Ministries
