We are excited about the things God has planned for the Esther House and Women’s Empowerment Center in 2011. As we begin a new year in His service, we realize that without the direction of God, we can do nothing but with God all things are possible.
The year is off to a great start at the Empowerment Center, we now have eight ladies enrolled in the January classes which include Job Readiness, Self-Enrichment, Successful Life Planning, Cooking, Financial Peace, Character Development and Office Etiquette. On top of all that some of the ladies are also preparing to take their GED’s. Shewww….we sure pack a lot into a day.
I would like to invite you to get involved by becoming a prayer partner throughout the year. This is what being a prayer partner means, you commit to pray for the ministry weekly and that’s it. We even give you an outline to go by, doesn’t get much easier than that. We have broken the areas of focus into the four quarters of the year. January through March we will be focusing on Wisdom, Discernment and Direction. Each week I will post the scripture reference and prayer, along with any special prayer needs that we have. As we know and have witnessed many times since the doors to the home opened in 2009 and the center in 2010, PRAYER CHANGES THINGS! Ready? Here you go….I am going to give you the first three weeks so you are all caught up.
Wisdom, Discernment and Direction
With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. 2 Thessalonians 1:11
"Dear God, I pray for Esther House, it’s residents and staff, and for the Women’s Empowerment Center, it’s students, teachers and staff, that You make them worthy of Your calling, and that by Your power Your bring fruit (ripe and attractive and sweet) for their every desire for goodness and their every deed prompted by faith. In Jesus’ Name, Amen."
Week 1: January 1-8
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5, 6
"Dear Lord God, Let the residents and staff of Esther House and the students, teachers, and staff of the Women’s Empowerment Center trust in You with all their hearts, and not lean on their own understanding. In all their ways may they acknowledge You. Please make each of their paths straight. In Jesus’ Name, Amen."
Week 2: January 9-15
I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might Ephesians 1:16-19
"Heavenly Father, help me to ceaselessly give thanks this week for Esther House and the Women’s Empowerment Center. Let me remember them in my prayers. God of our Lord Jesus Christ, Father of glory, give them a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of You, enlighten the eyes of their hearts, that they may know what is the hope to which You have called them, what are the riches of Your glorious inheritance in these saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of Your power toward us who believe, according to the working of Your great might in us. Thank you Father, in Jesus’ Name, Amen."
Week 3: January 16-22
For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6
"O Lord God, please give wisdom, knowledge and understanding from Your mouth to the staff, teachers, students, and residents of the Women’s Empowerment Center and Esther House. Give them ears to hear Your voice. In Jesus’ Name, Amen."
